Building Custom Reports

Overview

The Report Builder allows you to create detailed, custom, book- and segmentation-reports with the click of a button. This feature enhances your ability to manage and analyze your client data efficiently.

Getting Started

Access Requirements

To use the Report Builder, ensure you are logged in to ClientManager and navigate to the Practice tab. Please note that this feature is available only on the Team Standard or Team Essentials packages.

From the practice insights dashboard, click on Create Custom Report to access the Report Builder interface.

Interface and Options

The Report Builder provides an easy-to-use interface where you can create custom client-book reports. You can configure the report parameters using dropdown lists to describe the report you're looking for.

Example: Birthdays Report

Objective: Generate a list of clients with birthdays in the next month for planning communication and gifts.

Steps:

  • Select "show me" and then choose "birthdays".
  • Choose "active clients".
  • Specify the adviser as either a specific advisor or "anyone".
  • Set the timeframe to "the next 30 days".
  • Click Build Report.

Viewing and Downloading Reports

After building the report, you will see a custom client report matching your specified criteria.

  • Click View to open specific client profiles in new tabs.
  • Scroll to the right to view additional columns in your report.
  • Use the buttons at the top of the custom report window to download the report as an Excel spreadsheet, CSV file, or PDF document. You can also directly print the report from this window.
  • Close the report and modify criteria to generate a new report as needed.

Example: Tagged Clients Report

Objective: Generate a list of tagged clients.

Steps:

  • Choose a report of all clients matching the selected tags or choose "tags excluded" to exclude clients with specific tags.
  • For this example, select "tags included".
  • Click Build Report.
  • Select the tags you'd like your report to reference. Multiple tags can be chosen.
  • Click Build Report.

The generated report will match your specified criteria and will also contain a list of tags for each client in the last column. You can download this list as an Excel sheet for further filtering in Microsoft Excel.
